Maltese (goat)

The Maltese goat breed, as the name suggests, originates from the island of Malta. Today it has spread to many Mediterranean countries, but has been particularly selectively bred in Sicily and Southern Italy. It produces a large quantity of milk: from 500 to 600 kg of milk for 270–300 days.

It is characterized by a predominantly white coat coloration with a black head and ears and a thick white stripe running through the middle of the face.
